The career path of a leader in the sports betting industry

In the world of sports betting, Quality assurance plays a critical role by ensuring that betting platforms operate accurately, reliably and securely. These systems operate in real time and high volume transactions. An error can lead to regulatory issues, financial losses and loss of user trust. Product quality is often measured in seconds and split-second decisions. Behind the stability of such systems are the QA teams who help maintain stability, fairness and smooth user experience for betters.

Working in such an environment builds skills and a mindset that extend beyond a specific role. Whether it’s managing markets or ensuring product quality, the ability to quickly assess risk, make precise decisions, and understand the consequences of every action is equally critical. This similarity in mindset is what enables a seamless transition from sports betting to Quality Assurance.

Ivan Totev’s career is a strong example of this path - now Head of Quality Assurance in Delasport’s Technical Department, he has been with the company for nearly four years. His professional journey began in the sports department working in a dynamic environment, analyzing data and collaborating within a team. Today, he applies that experience in building strong testing processes, mentoring QA members and ensuring high standards throughout the development lifecycle. With a focus on collaboration, efficiency and continuous improvement, Ivan and his team help deliver stable, high-quality solutions while supporting the team in meeting both technical and business goals.

You started your career as a Risk Analyst. What made you pursue a career change toward Quality Assurance?

I started my career as a Risk Analyst, but my interest in the iGaming industry began much earlier. Prior to that, I worked at a casino, and that’s when I realized that what fascinated me the most wasn’t the betting itself, but how the system works “behind the scenes.”

I was never a typical customer. I was always curious about how the games were designed, how the odds were calculated, how the software tracked every bet, and the ways in which a single mistake can impact both the customer and the business.

As a Risk Analyst, I began to understand the product much more deeply. Over time, I realized that my true passion was not in managing risk, markets, or odds, but in preventing problems before they even reach the customer.

The Quality Assurance role gave me exactly that opportunity by developing a strong eye for detail and a deep understanding of how systems and processes can fail. In that sense, the transition to Quality Assurance felt completely natural.

It’s a bit like moving from being a player on the field to becoming the coach - because that’s where you start to see the whole picture.

How did your experience as a Risk Analyst help you understand the product, customer needs, and business logic?

Both professions share many similarities. You need to think quickly and logically, anticipate possible scenarios, and be able to assess risks and potential consequences.

My experience as a Risk Analyst helped me understand the product at a level that colleagues from other departments often don’t reach. I understand what customers want because I always asked myself what I would miss if I were in their position. From there, the business logic began to fall into place naturally.

Which skills developed as a Risk Analyst were most beneficial when transitioning to software testing?

My experience as an analyst provided a strong foundation for testing, particularly through skills like analytical thinking, data analysis, attention to detail, and risk assessment.

As a Risk Analyst, I worked with huge volumes of data in real time - statistics, odds, risk indicators, and much more. The environment is extremely dynamic, with constant changes in events, and my reaction often had to be immediate.

In Quality Assurance, when you test live events, you don’t have the luxury of taking your time to think things through. My analyst experience prepared me well for exactly these kinds of scenarios.

How did the transition from Junior Manual QA to a leadership position happen?

There wasn’t a single “magic moment.” The transition didn’t happen overnight - it was the result of consistent effort, leadership and taking on responsibilities beyond my role, asking a lot of questions, and looking for solutions instead of waiting for instructions. Over time, this helped me build confidence and gain a broader understanding of both the role and the processes.

What kind of challenges did you face early in your career, and how did you overcome them?

In the beginning, the biggest challenge was not having a clear understanding of what the Quality Assurance role looks like in a real working environment. One of the challenges I faced was adapting from a primarily analytical position to a more technical, hands on role.

I was entering a new profession and was still building an understanding of expectations, responsibilities, and my place in the decision-making process.

Over time, I also realized that the role often remains on the periphery, which can sometimes lead to certain problems being underestimated or postponed. What helped me adapt faster was my strong understanding of the product and my willingness to actively participate in processes.

What advice would you give for young professionals who want to grow in Quality Assurance?

The most important thing is to understand the product in depth, not just from a user perspective but also how it is built and maintained. It is crucial to take time to learn the tools, frameworks and methodologies used in QA.

They should ask questions, look for the reasoning behind requirements, and not be afraid to express well-argued opinions. Quality Assurance is a role that requires problem solving, consistent attention to detail and a proactive attitude. It is for people who take responsibility and understand their impact on the final outcome.

What principles do you follow when building an effective team?

For me, an effective team is not built around tools, but around mindset. I focus on three core principles: clarity, collaboration and continuous improvement.

At the core lies a strong understanding of the product and the business - not simply completing tasks. A QA specialist who doesn’t understand why a particular feature is important will struggle to prioritize correctly.

Another key principle is clearly defined responsibility. In our team, there is no room for “this is not my problem.” Quality is a shared responsibility. In that sense, everyone must clearly understand their role and influence.

This creates confidence and independence within the team and eliminates the need for micromanagement.

How do you handle challenges and pressure in live betting systems?

Live betting is, by definition, a high-intensity environment because everything happens in real time.

For me, preparation, task prioritization, and quick risk assessment are fundamental. My experience as an analyst has always helped me recognize critical situations early on and avoid wasting valuable time. I focus on assessing risks methodologically, making decisions based on data rather than impulse and preparing for multiple outcomes.

From a leadership perspective, I try to prevent that pressure from spreading to the team. My role is to remove the ‘noise’, define priorities, and maintain control of the situation. This allows my team to stay focused and effective without panic.

What is the role of a Quality Assurance leader when implementing new technologies, AI, or automation?

New technologies should not create dependency or resistance to change within the Quality Assurance department. Instead, they should shift focus toward higher-value work.

The real question isn’t about adopting new technologies, tools, or automation- it is about solving real problems. Without alignment with the product, even AI and automation add little value.

My responsibility is to identify where automation delivers the greatest value and to adopt AI and new technologies in ways that enhance product quality and team efficiency. My focus is on stability and early issue detection, rather than simply increasing the number of automated tests.

How do you see the development of Quality Assurance roles in sports betting over the next five years?

In my opinion, Quality Assurance will become much more integrated with both product and business. It will become increasingly strategic and technologically advanced.

Traditionally, QA has often been seen as the final checkpoint before releasing a feature. In the future, QA specialists will be involved much earlier - even during the stage when requirements are being defined.

This will undoubtedly bring greater value to the business.

AI will certainly change the nature of our daily work by performing automate complex testing, predict system failures or errors, enable data driven decisions and support regulatory compliance. However, human judgment will remain just as important, especially in complex scenarios.

At Delasport, some of the strongest product leaders are those who have experienced the sportsbook industry from the inside - understanding both the operational mechanics of betting and the strategic vision required to build innovative products.

Tihomir Kozich is one of them.

Since joining Delasport in 2019 as a Sports Trader, Tihomir has built a career that spans both trading and product development. After more than four years in trading, he now leads several major initiatives, including the World Cup 2026 Hub - one of the company’s most strategic upcoming projects.

In this interview, Tihomir shares how his trading background shaped his product thinking, what it takes to lead complex sportsbook initiatives, and how Delasport is preparing for one of the biggest events in global sports.

You began your career at Delasport as a Sports Trader. How did your experience in trading shape your understanding of the sportsbook industry?

Starting in Trading gave me a complete view of how the sportsbook ecosystem operates. As a trader, you are constantly monitoring markets, managing exposure, and reacting to real-time movements.

Over the years, I developed a deep understanding of the full sportsbook lifecycle - from event and market creation, pricing logic, and trend analysis to exposure management, settlement processes, and risk control across multiple sports. Working in such a dynamic environment required fast decision-making under pressure, strengthening both my analytical thinking and operational discipline.

Most importantly, trading teaches you how markets behave and how customers think. That knowledge becomes extremely valuable when working on product development because you understand the real dynamics behind every bet placed on the platform.

After more than four years in Trading, you moved into the Product team. What motivated that transition?

After four and a half years in Trading, I felt it was the right time to take the next step in my professional development.

At the same time, becoming a father of two also influenced how I think about long-term growth and responsibility. I wanted to challenge myself and broaden my perspective within the company.

Moving into Product meant stepping outside my comfort zone. Seeing betting from a trader’s perspective is very different from building it from a product perspective. The transition came with a steep learning curve - understanding product processes, coordinating across teams, and shifting the mindset from operational execution to long-term product strategy.

The first months were intense, but they accelerated my development significantly. My trading background also turned out to be a strong advantage because it allowed me to approach product decisions with a deep understanding of how markets function in practice.

You’ve been involved in several major initiatives at Delasport. Which projects have been the most impactful in your journey?

One important milestone was leading the UK integration project with Hollywoodbets. This initiative introduced me deeply to the horse racing domain, which is a unique vertical with its own operational and regulatory complexities.

Managing the integration required close coordination across teams, technical implementation, and ensuring that the product met the specific requirements of the UK market. It was a challenging project that significantly expanded my sportsbook expertise, ultimately resulting in a smooth launch and a highly successful market entry.

Another key initiative was the Bet Builder expansion for American sports, including American Football and Basketball. Bet Builders are one of the biggest innovations in modern sportsbook products, and contributing to their development for the US market was an important step for both the product and the company’s competitive positioning. The project was delivered with strong impact, enhancing user engagement and reinforcing Delasport’s position as a competitive and innovative provider in the US market.

You are currently leading the World Cup 2026 Hub initiative. What makes this project so significant?

The World Cup is the ultimate stress test for every sportsbook - technically, operationally, and commercially.

Our goal is to build a centralized World Cup Hub that becomes the main destination for betting during the tournament. The focus is on reducing friction in the betting process, ensuring consistent odds availability during peak traffic, and introducing dynamic features such as Boosted offers and Bet Builders inside the hub.

The ambition behind the project is significant. We are targeting a 15–20% increase in World Cup betting turnover compared to Euro 2024, with a large portion of bets expected to be placed directly through the World Cup Hub.

This initiative combines product innovation, technical scalability, and commercial ambition, making it one of the most exciting projects currently underway at Delasport, and is set to directly enhance our operators’ success by driving higher engagement, improving retention, and unlocking new revenue opportunities.

Your career path reflects strong internal growth within the company. What has helped you develop at Delasport?

One of the most important factors has been the environment of trust and responsibility.

When people are given the opportunity to take ownership and grow internally, it builds confidence and accountability over time. Being able to evolve through different roles within the company has allowed me to continuously expand my perspective and skill set.

It also demonstrates the value of long-term development within an organization.

What motivates you most in your work today?

What motivates me most is the opportunity to build products that create real impact at scale.

The sportsbook industry is extremely dynamic, and there is always room for innovation and improvement. Being part of that process and contributing to major initiatives like the World Cup Hub is incredibly rewarding.

At the same time, being a father reminds me of the importance of long-term thinking - both personally and professionally. Growth, responsibility, and continuous development are values that guide me every day.

Our Director of Data, Yasen Nestorov, walks us through the vision behind our new BigQuery lakehouse.

Why did you decide to move the company to a BigQuery-based data lakehouse architecture?

Yasen: We chose to move because our legacy setup had reached its limits. It required significant manual work, lacked proper governance, and made complex analytics or machine learning difficult to scale. BigQuery gives us a fully managed foundation that removes infrastructure overhead and lets us focus on building data products rather than maintaining systems.

A key driver for us was the ability to decouple storage from compute, allowing each to scale independently. That flexibility is essential as our data volumes grow, and our analytics needs become more dynamic. We can scale processing power when we need heavy computation, without over-provisioning storage, and vice versa.

This transformation also strengthens our ability to build trust in data across executive leadership. With a reliable, well-governed platform, leaders can make decisions with confidence, knowing the data is consistent, timely, and high-quality.

Ultimately, this move supports our long-term strategy around advanced analytics, AI, and automation, where systems can proactively generate insights or propose actions. We wanted a platform that is fast, reliable, easy to govern, and capable of powering everything from operational dashboards to machine learning. BigQuery delivers all of that in a single ecosystem.

For people who may not be familiar with a lakehouse architecture, how would you describe what you’re building?

Yasen: A lakehouse combines the best parts of a data lake and a data warehouse in one unified environment for raw data, processed transformations, analytics, and machine learning. Raw data lands in a central location, then moves through refined layers, creating a platform where data engineers, analysts, and AI engineers work together seamlessly within the same governance framework, with full lineage tracking and version-controlled pipelines. This setup makes data more accessible, reliable, and ready for insights across the business.

What made BigQuery the right platform for this transformation?

Yasen: BigQuery removes most operational burden that slows teams down. There are no servers to manage, no capacity planning, and no complicated scaling policies. It handles massive datasets with ease, provides fast SQL performance, and integrates natively with governance, transformations, and ML tools. This also makes it cost-efficient, since we only pay for what we use, without the overhead of managing infrastructure.

It also reduces dependency on rare expert profiles. Not every organization can easily hire senior data engineers with deep infrastructure knowledge. We wanted a platform where analysts can build dashboards and explore data without needing specialized engineers beside them. BigQuery helps us make the platform accessible, scalable, and future-proof.

Can you walk us through the core components of your architecture?

Yasen: We designed the architecture around simplicity, clarity, and ease of onboarding. Data is extracted from production systems and first lands in a centralized storage layer. From there, it moves into BigQuery as structured or semi-structured raw tables.

Transformations run entirely within BigQuery using GCP-native ELT tooling, which provides automated testing, modular development, environment separation, and clean dependency management. Versioning is maintained through a centralized system that tracks all changes and deployments.

The platform operates across distinct but connected layers: a data lake for raw and lightly processed data, a dedicated testing environment for validating new pipelines and models, a warehouse optimized for analytics and dashboards, and a feature store that supports machine learning workloads. Each layer is designed to flow naturally into the next and to support clear development and operational practices.

Pipelines follow production-grade orchestration processes aligned with our “pipelines as production software” mindset. This ensures reliability, maintainability, and strong observability. A monitoring system tracks execution and triggers alerts for any failures or anomalies, enabling timely visibility and proactive maintenance. The entire architecture follows the principles of the Google Cloud Well-Architected Framework to ensure reliability, performance, security, and operational excellence.

Security and governance are strict: everything is documented, tracked, and controlled so new team members can onboard confidently and safely. And while the current team is relatively smaller, every process and architectural choice is designed to scale efficiently as we grow.

Phase 1 of the project has been completed. What did that include?

Yasen: Phase 1 focused on moving a major part of our business-critical pipelines into the new architecture and establishing the full back-end foundation. We implemented consistent development processes, creating multiple environments with automated deployments, and embedding quality checks throughout the pipelines.

We are not just migrating. We are rebuilding and enriching data models so end-users - analysts and BI teams - can work more efficiently, with fewer joins and faster queries. This sets the stage to shift focus from maintenance to generating real business value.

Phase 1 laid the groundwork for reliable, maintainable, and scalable data operations that can support future growth and more advanced analytics initiatives.

How do you ensure governance, lineage, and data quality across the platform?

Yasen: Governance is built in from the start. We use centralized cataloging and policy enforcement tools to manage data consistently across the platform. Transformations include automated quality checks, and lineage is tracked automatically so anyone can see where a dataset comes from and how it was produced.

Access is controlled through a strict role-based permission model, and documentation is kept thorough and up to date. We also leverage AI assistants to support tasks like writing documentation and assisting with orchestration coding - always following strict security rules and never accessing sensitive data.

Quality assurance is a top priority. Mistakes early on could be very costly down the line, so we enforce strict standards to ensure the data is accurate, reliable, and trustworthy.

Cost control is always a concern in cloud analytics. How are you approaching BigQuery cost optimization?

Yasen: BigQuery can be very cost-efficient when used thoughtfully. We always tailor optimizations to the intended use of each dataset. For example, tables in the lake are designed for transformation-heavy workloads, as the ELT pipelines are the primary users. In contrast, tables in the warehouse and the feature store are optimized for analytics queries, dashboards, and machine learning models, which are the main consumers in those layers.

To achieve this, we apply a range of cost-efficient design strategies, including partitioning, clustering, incremental processing, and table denormalization. We also use slot reservations for predictable compute needs, materialized views for frequently accessed logic, and query caching to avoid unnecessary rescans.

The goal is to provide teams with a fast, responsive environment while controlling spending - so analysts and ML practitioners can explore and query data confidently without scanning unnecessary terabytes.

What challenges did you encounter during the transition?

Yasen: One of the main challenges is keeping the business running smoothly while modernizing the data platform. This means we must maintain the legacy system even as we build the new BigQuery-based architecture. To manage this, we follow a dual-track delivery model: focusing on building a robust back-end foundation, while maintaining existing developments and planning for the next phase of rebuilding data feeds, application integrations, and business dashboards.

Compliance and regulatory requirements are also critical – our solutions must meet all standards while continuing to deliver reliable service.

Manpower is another challenge. We intentionally develop everything in-house because deep business domain knowledge is essential for designing an architecture that truly fits our needs. Contractors can help, but they often lack the nuanced understanding and focus required for an optimal solution.

What role does AI play in your long-term roadmap?

Yasen: AI is central to our vision. The lakehouse provides the foundation for machine learning pipelines, from model training to deployment. Our vision is data-centric rather than model-centric: even the best algorithms won’t deliver value if the underlying data isn’t clean, structured, and ready for use.

We have several ML models planned for the near term, including personalized CRM journeys, fraud preventions, affiliate traffic optimizations, customer segmentations, churn prediction, early VIP client detection, and product recommendation engines.

Longer term, our vision is agentic BI - systems that proactively detect patterns, generate insights, propose decisions, and even automate actions across domains. Most data teams in the industry are still reactive, constantly juggling tasks and priorities with little time to step back, analyze deeply, or see the bigger picture. We want to break that cycle. Everything we are building today - from governance to architecture - is designed to move us toward a future where insights are not just delivered but anticipated.

Final question. What excites you most about this transformation?

Yasen: What excites me most is the shift from a reactive, maintenance-heavy setup to a proactive, value-driven platform. We’re building an environment that scales naturally, automates routine tasks, and enables advanced analytics and AI.

But it’s more than just modernizing infrastructure. We’re empowering analysts, reducing dependency on rare technical specialists, and creating a platform where teams can focus on insight, innovation, and impact instead of firefighting. This transformation will fundamentally change how the company works with data and unlock value for years to come.

The post Modernizing Our Data Platform: Building a BigQuery Lakehouse first appeared on Delasport.

At Delasport, we believe that reliable and sustainable products are built by strong, committed teams - teams that combine high technical expertise with responsibility and a deep understanding of business needs. This is exactly the kind of team behind the development of our casino products.

Today, we introduce you to Tereza Terzieva, Head of Games R&D, who has been part of Delasport for nearly five years. With a strong background in software development and a career path shaped from an early age, Tereza is one of the standout leaders within the company.

In an environment where technical roles have traditionally been dominated by men, Tereza successfully leads the only team at Delasport fully dedicated to casino development. She passionately believes that true success comes from working with ownership and responsibility - treating what you build as your own and always aiming for long-term solutions.

In the following interview, Tereza shares more about her professional journey and her approach to leading technical teams.

After a long journey in software development and growth within Delasport, you are now Head of Games R&D. How does your technical background shape your leadership style?

My technical background keeps me grounded. Having a deep understanding of the technologies and components we work with helps me fully grasp the real tools the team uses and the challenges they face on a daily basis. As a result, my decisions are never abstract - they are rooted in practice and reality.

Equally important, this background has shaped the way I think. I have always been drawn to complex problems and finding solutions - not only by writing code, but also in managing people and projects. Every situation requires a different approach, balance, and long-term thinking. For me, leadership emerges precisely there - in understanding context, supporting people, and taking responsibility for the product. This mindset naturally led me from development into management and continues to define how I lead my team today.

Looking back on your first steps as a leader, what surprised you most about managing people?

For a long time, my path was purely technical rather than managerial. Logic and unsolvable problems were always my passion, and I never imagined myself stepping into a leadership role. Over time, however, I realized that this very passion helps me in management as well.

It teaches me to consider many different factors, to be patient, and to approach complex situations calmly. In the end, people management also involves “problems to solve” - the difference is that the solutions require more attention, understanding, and balance.

As a female leader in a traditionally male-dominated technical environment, have you ever felt that expectations were higher and that you had to prove yourself more?

Yes - and honestly, I liked it. Challenges motivate me. I have never seen this as an obstacle. I have been surrounded by mostly male company since childhood, which helped me become direct, confident, and calm in such environments.

I combine determination and drive with patience and empathy. This balance helps me build trust and work effectively with the people around me.

What do you believe is the key difference between a manager and a true leader in the tech industry?

For me, the difference lies in attitude and example. A good manager oversees processes and tasks. A true leader creates an environment where people want to give their best.

Leadership means walking alongside your team. When challenges arise - you face them together. When success comes - you give credit to those who achieved it. Trust is the foundation of everything, and when it exists, the team becomes resilient and united.

My greatest achievement is that my team is strong, cohesive, and stable - people enjoy coming to work and they choose to stay.

How do you make decisions when there is a conflict between the “ideal technical solution” and genuine business constraints?

In practice, compromises are often necessary for several reasons. What matters to me is that decisions are informed and well thought out. This means gathering enough information, listening to different perspectives, and evaluating the long-term impact.

I do not believe it is a weakness to consult more experienced colleagues - on the contrary, it shows maturity and responsibility. When we work as one, we can find the best possible balance between technology and business.

How do you balance working with team members who have diverse levels of experience?

Balance comes through clear role distribution and constant communication. More experienced colleagues could share knowledge and mentor others, while newer team members receive support and space to grow.

It is important that everyone has time for focused work as well as collaboration. When people complement and support one another, the team grows naturally.

Your team has exceptionally low turnover. How do you motivate people to think long-term rather than about completing individual tasks?

I believe people stay where they feel part of something meaningful. Our team is built on support, open communication, and a clear development direction. People see purpose in what they do and know they have room to grow.

That is when staying becomes a natural choice, not just a decision.

Your team is distributed across different countries. What practices do you use to maintain clear and effective communication?

I rely on consistency and transparency. We have daily meetings where we discuss tasks, challenges, and solutions. Communication happens on shared channels, so everyone has access and clarity.

We also work on common initiatives, which help us stay connected and maintain a powerful sense of being one team - even when we are not in the same location.

What advice would you give to people taking their first steps as technical leaders?

I would advise them not to rush into proving themselves as leaders. In my experience, that rarely works and can even push people away.

Leadership is built through actions, not titles - through how you communicate, make decisions, and show your team they can rely on you. It is important to stay close to the team and to the real work - to understand the challenges people face and where support is needed.

Share your knowledge instead of keeping it to yourself and lead by example. Trust is built through dedication, time, consistency, and honesty. When people feel that there is no need to impose authority, leadership happens naturally.

The post From Code to Leadership: Building Strong Tech Teams at Delasport first appeared on Delasport.

Ahead of this year’s FIFA World Cup 2026, Delasport explains how its sportsbook platform has been built to benefit both players and operators

Sports betting has evolved. Players no longer judge a sportsbook only by betting options or odds. They’re used to high-end customer experiences from e-commerce products like Amazon and Netflix, and they expect the same from sportsbooks. That’s why they assess how quickly the product gets them to what they want, how relevant it feels, and how much it enhances the moments that matter.

That change has created a new reality for operators. Brand growth depends on more than acquisition budgets and bonus cycles. It depends on building a sportsbook players love – one they return to because it feels intuitive, engaging, and built around their personal sports betting needs.

With the 2026 World Cup expected to attract a new wave of casual and first-time bettors, the challenge for operators is no longer traffic, but conversion into long-term players.

Delasport’s approach is unique: designing the sportsbook around how players behave and what they need, not around how sportsbooks have traditionally been structured. The result is a product that feels effortless at the start of a session through personalization, becomes energized during live matches with unique ways to bet, and stays compelling through real-time engagement – helping to build habits over time. That player experience turns into direct operator value: stronger engagement, higher retention, clear differentiation, and improved performance across core KPIs.

Delasport’s Sportsbook is tuned to retain players longer. Today, operators are struggling with high iGaming tax and increasing acquisition costs, and the need to excel in retention is no longer a nice-to-have – it’s a must. The upcoming World Cup is expected to be the biggest in every aspect, and a significant number of new players may come only to bet on specific games and never return. For this reason, having a Sportsbook where players can immediately see the benefits is key – from personalization, suggestions, and recommendations to unique ways to bet, like Betiator, SuperPot, My-Event-Builder, and more.

A Sportsbook Built Around Identity

Every sports fan has a pattern: favorite teams, preferred leagues, specific match types, and a rhythm of following sport across the week. Yet many sportsbook interfaces still feel like one long list. Players end up doing the same work repeatedly: searching, filtering, tapping through menus, and rebuilding their routine every time they open the app.

Delasport solves this with a player-first foundation. With My Sportsbook, users create a personalized home screen that brings their favorites forward instantly. The sportsbook becomes familiar. The experience becomes faster. And the player feels the product reflects their sports world rather than asking them to adapt to a generic interface.

That feeling of ownership has a major psychological impact. The sportsbook stops being “a platform” and becomes “my sportsbook.” That’s where loyalty begins.

Faster Discovery, Better Decisions

Speed alone doesn’t create loyalty. Relevance does. Players want to discover opportunities quickly and confidently, especially when time and attention are limited.

Delasport focuses on discovery tools that remove friction without reducing choice. My Combo is designed to help players find personalized combinations based on real betting behavior. It supports exploration without forcing players to scroll through endless markets, and it drives deeper engagement by making relevant options easier to spot.

For players who enjoy creativity, My Event Builder adds a different layer: the ability to create unique matchups using real sports data. It encourages interaction and experimentation, and it makes the sportsbook feel more expressive – a space where sports knowledge becomes part of the experience.

These features do something important: they make the session feel smooth. Players don’t spend their time searching for what they want. They spend their time enjoying sport.

Turning Live Matches Into Continuous Engagement

Live sport is already emotional, but sportsbook products often capture only the biggest spikes in attention – a goal, a penalty, a late comeback. In between those moments, engagement drops. The player watches. The app sits idle.

Delasport’s engagement suite is designed to keep interaction alive throughout the match, using mechanics that feel clear and rewarding. Features like Combo Booster, Combo Insurance, and Double My Winnings add excitement into key moments through transparent rules tied to sports outcomes. They heighten the tension and reward without adding complexity.

This is where the emotional difference becomes measurable. Players stay active longer because the experience keeps delivering moments worth interacting with.

And Delasport also pushes live engagement further with new formats created specifically for modern consumption. Betiator, Delasport’s newest and most innovative feature in the industry, introduces a crash-style sportsbook experience powered by real in-play sports moments. It’s fast, visual, and designed for high-frequency interaction during live matches. It keeps players engaged in phases where traditional betting often struggles to hold attention, creating a more continuous and modern in-play journey.

In short: the match becomes interactive from the start, not only when something dramatic happens.

The Competitive Energy Players Crave

Sport is inherently social. Fans compare results, track standings, feel rivalries, and follow momentum across a season. The strongest sportsbook experiences reflect that same competitive energy.

That’s why Delasport built SuperPot. It introduces standings and shared momentum that make the experience feel bigger than an individual bet. Players can see where they rank and feel the tension of competition. That creates a sense of participation, not just placement.

Features like this build habits because they give players a reason to return beyond a single match. They return for progress. They return for position. They return to see how the story develops.

Why Operators Benefit When Players Love the Experience

A sportsbook that players enjoy using creates operator value that compounds over time. The same features that generate excitement and satisfaction for players also improve business performance.

Engagement becomes deeper and more frequent

Personalized entry points, guided discovery, and real-time mechanics support longer sessions and more interactions per visit. Betiator adds a new in-play layer that encourages repeat activity within a match, lifting bets per session and sustaining attention during live sport.

Retention strengthens naturally

When players feel ownership and excitement, repeat behavior rises without relying on constant incentives. Operators gain healthier retention because the product itself becomes the reason players come back.

Differentiation becomes tangible

Many operators offer similar market coverage and similar odds. Players remember how a sportsbook feels. A product that is personalized, interactive, and visually modern gives an operator identity that stands out immediately.

Value per player increases

Richer sessions lead to stronger player value. Personalized combos, interactive events, real-time mechanics, and innovative formats encourage more varied behavior and more frequent decision-making, supporting higher value per active user.

Marketing has stronger hooks

Operators need features that communicate quickly. Products like Betiator are visual and easy to explain, making them strong for live-event campaigns. Engagement features also provide stories beyond odds and bonuses: excitement, progression, and a product experience players talk about.

The Future of Sports Betting Is Experience-Led

Sports betting is moving toward an experience-first era. Players want personal journeys, faster discovery, live interaction, and shared competitive energy. The operators who thrive will be the ones whose sportsbooks feel designed for real player behavior – intuitive at the beginning, exciting during the match, and rewarding over time.

Delasport delivers that future with world-class products built for player love and operator performance. From personalization and real-time engagement to category-defining innovation like Betiator, the focus stays consistent: build a sportsbook players choose because they enjoy it – and operators win because it performs.

World Cup 2026 will reward the operators that turn moments into habits – and that’s where experience-led sportsbooks will define the next generation of winners.

Because the future of sports betting belongs to one simple truth: when players love the experience, operators grow.

The post Built for World Cup 2026: A sportsbook players love and operators win with first appeared on Delasport.

The World’s First Crash-Style Game Built for Sports Betting

January 19th, 2026 – Barcelona, Spain

Today, during the biggest industry expo - ICE Barcelona - Delasport, an award-winning Sport, Casino, and Platform provider, revealed its revolutionary new innovation: Betiator, a category-defining product that changes live sports betting forever.

Betiator is the first-ever crash-style game designed exclusively for sportsbook, merging the raw drama of live sports with the heart-pounding tension of crash mechanics.

For decades, sportsbook innovation has revolved around the same core ingredients: odds, markets, and bonuses. Betiator breaks that cycle with a whole new way to play - it’s all about timing. Every second matters. Every moment builds suspense. And every decision feels immediate, emotional, and alive.

Inspired by the explosive popularity of crash games in casino, Betiator brings that same simplicity and adrenaline into live sports. Players follow real in-play action through a highly visual interface, decide when to jump in, and choose when to cash out - before the moment hits. The result is a fast, intuitive, and thrilling experience that feels as exciting to watch as it is to play.

“Betiator is not an add-on, and it’s not another market,” said Oren Cohen Shwartz, CEO of Delasport. “It’s a revolutionary new Sports product. We’ve taken the tension people love in crash games and fused it with the emotional peaks of live sports. This is the next evolution of gambling in general and of in-play betting in particular.”

For operators, Betiator delivers more than excitement. It unlocks higher engagement, longer sessions, increased bet frequency, and new cross-sell opportunities, while attracting audiences that traditional sportsbooks struggle to convert - especially bingo, casino-first and younger, mobile-native players.

With Betiator, Delasport redefines live sports betting - elevating it from static odds into a fast, visual, emotion-driven entertainment experience.

Betiator made its official debut at ICE Barcelona 2026, where partners and operators can experience the future of live betting firsthand.

Every four years, the World Cup reshapes how audiences engage with sport - and the sports betting industry feels the impact immediately. Global attention concentrates, emotions intensify, and betting activity accelerates at scale. During the tournament, wagering volumes typically increase by 200% or more, with tens of millions of bettors active worldwide.

However, round 60–70% of tournament-acquired players churn within 30 days once the tournament ends if engagement is not sustained. This is where Delasport excels with sportsbook designed around engagement and retention. In the text below, we’ll explore the opportunities that the biggest tournament in the world offers to operators, and how they can use the momentum gained for long-term development through real-time player engagement tools, personalization, recommendations, and unique betting options such as Delasport’s Betiator (the first crash game for sports) and Superpot (a sports betting jackpot).

When the World Is Watching

During the World Cup, sportsbooks experience the busiest period of the year. Betting volumes surge well beyond normal levels, deposit activity accelerates as the tournament progresses, and in-play betting becomes the primary driver of turnover. In many markets, the World Cup represents the single busiest betting phase of the entire year.

Alongside highly active sports bettors, the tournament attracts a much broader audience:

Casual players placing their first wagers, often influenced by national teams or social circles

Infrequent bettors returning for marquee matches and knockout stages

Audiences motivated by shared experience, rather than established betting habits

This diversity is part of what makes the World Cup so commercially attractive - and so operationally complex. Players arrive with different levels of experience, confidence, and expectations. Some are comfortable navigating advanced markets, while others are engaging with a sportsbook for the very first time.

What Happens in the iGaming Industry

When a tournament like the World Cup begins, sportsbook performance changes rapidly and measurably across multiple dimensions.

During major international tournaments:

Betting volumes increase by up to ~200% compared to regular periods

Deposit activity increases by ~40–60% as tournaments progress, with peaks during knockout stages and marquee matches

In-play betting becomes a dominant driver of turnover, reflecting how closely fans follow live matches

These shifts are driven by both the tournament structure and player psychology. Frequent match schedules reduce downtime, while the knockout format amplifies tension and unpredictability. As a result, players engage more often, return more frequently, and explore a wider range of markets - particularly in-play options.

During the World Cup, operators are competing not just with each other, but with a broader entertainment ecosystem all vying for attention. As a result, acquisition cost gets higher.

Without early and relevant engagement, this influx of traffic often converts poorly into long-term value:

Around 40% of tournament-acquired players place only a single bet before going dormant

Post-tournament churn accelerates sharply, with only 15–20% of players still active 30 days after acquisition if no structured retention strategy is applied

In other words, while the World Cup reliably delivers traffic, around 60–70% of tournament-acquired players churn within 30 days once the tournament ends if engagement is not sustained.

Data from recent major competitions reveals a consistent pattern:

Players who engage meaningfully in their first session are ~5 times more likely to return post-tournament

Less than 30% of newly acquired players remain active the day after registration without early personalization, making speed and relevance at first login decisive for retention

In short, while the World Cup guarantees attention, retention determines profitability.

Turning Momentum into Loyalty

To convert World Cup traffic into long-term value, operators need to act immediately and strategically. They must serve and engage players instantly while demonstrating a superior betting experience.

Delasport’s engagement ecosystem is designed precisely for this challenge—beginning with context-based World Cup personalization such as tournament pages, suggestions, and recommendations; extending into experience-led innovation; and reinforced through real-time engagement mechanics like missions that keep players active well beyond their first wager. This is further enhanced by unique ways to bet, such as Superpot (the World Cup Sportsbook Jackpot) and Betiator (a first-of-its-kind crash game for sports betting).

Rather than relying on a single feature or a short-term promotional spike, Delasport focuses on building a connected journey that reflects how player behavior evolves throughout a major tournament.

Personalization That Sets the Pace

Engagement starts at first login. During the World Cup, first impressions are critical, particularly when acquisition costs are high and player expectations are shaped by instant digital experiences elsewhere.

Delasport’s My Sportsbook personalization ensures that players immediately see the sports, teams, and markets that matter to them most.

75% of players engage with personalized content

Bets are placed within 6 seconds after login

Operators see a 30% increase in player lifetime value (LTV)

Deposits increase by 25%

This speed and relevance are especially important during the World Cup. Newly acquired players are guided directly into in-play content related to the matches they care about, reducing friction and shortening the path from registration to engagement.

By aligning the sportsbook experience with individual preferences from the outset, My Sportsbook helps operators capture momentum before attention drifts elsewhere.

Experience-Led Engagement for Live Moments

While personalization brings players in, Betiator keeps them there.

As Delasport’s newest launch, Betiator is the first and only crash game for in-play sportsbetting. Betiator allows players to remain active throughout the match, responding to momentum shifts, decisive moments, and unfolding drama in real time.

Betiator:

Extends live betting sessions

Increases interaction frequency during matches

Keeps players engaged throughout the full match experience

Helps convert short-term tournament traffic into repeat engagement

During a World Cup, where matches are packed with high-stakes moments, Betiator transforms passive viewing into continuous interaction. It adds a new engagement layer that complements traditional betting, helping operators stand out in a highly competitive environment.

Cross-Vertical Engagement That Lasts

Retention does not stop with sports betting alone. During the World Cup, most players - particularly casual and first-time bettors - respond strongly to simple, high-reward mechanics that feel accessible and entertaining.

SuperPot bridges sports and casino verticals through jackpot-style engagement:

Cross-sells sports and casino audiences

Creates recurring engagement loops via unique must-win jackpot mechanics

Supports longer-term retention beyond individual matches

By blending tournament excitement with jackpot anticipation, SuperPot gives operators a way to maintain engagement between matches and across different player segments. It also provides an effective pathway for casual players to remain active, even when they are less confident in traditional sports betting markets.

Sustaining Activity Beyond the First Bet

To reinforce retention across the full tournament lifecycle, Delasport’s Player Engagement Suite and Double My Winnings provide structured incentives that encourage repeat play and sustained activity.

These tools help operators:

Maintain activity beyond the initial wager

Encourage repeat betting across group stages, knockouts, and finals

Reduce drop-off between matches

Rather than relying on one-off bonuses, these engagement tools support consistent interaction, helping players develop habits that extend beyond the tournament itself.

Suggestions and Recommendations

During major tournaments such as the World Cup, personalization plays a central role in driving engagement and supporting faster decision-making. By analyzing the sports, teams, leagues, and markets each player follows, sportsbooks can surface timely, relevant betting suggestions aligned with individual interests rather than generic offers.

In addition to personal preferences, highlighting trending bets among players with similar profiles adds valuable context and helps surface market momentum. During the World Cup, recommendation frameworks should prioritize tournament-specific markets such as match outcomes, goalscorer bets, group standings, and knockout-stage specials, refined by the teams and nations each player follows throughout the competition.

Designated Tournament Page

A Designated World Cup Page provides a single destination that brings together key statistics, tournament context, and betting options in one place.

By centralizing essential information and markets, operators create a clearer and more intuitive tournament experience. A well-structured tournament page should include:

Group standings with points, goal difference, and progression status

Team performance data, including wins, draws, losses, and current form

Individual player statistics, such as top goalscorer rankings

Pre-match betting options, including match markets, outrights, and combo opportunities

In-play betting access, updated dynamically as matches unfold

This structure allows players to move seamlessly from insight to action, while dynamic updates ensure relevance throughout the tournament and support sustained engagement as the competition progresses.

Making Retention the Competitive Advantage

The World Cup will always deliver traffic. But traffic alone does not define success.

Operators that focus on:

Fast, personalized onboarding

Experience-driven in-play engagement

Cross-vertical retention mechanics

Smart, structured incentive strategies

are the ones that transform short-term momentum into sustainable growth.

With personalization that accelerates first engagement, innovative in-play experiences like Betiator, and cross-vertical tools such as SuperPot, Delasport equips operators to maximize the World Cup opportunity - not just during the tournament, but long after it ends.

During the World Cup, player behavior changes - and operators who adapt their engagement strategy are the ones who convert excitement into sustainable growth.

The post Delasport’s Tech Turns World Cup Ad-Hoc Visitors into Loyal Players first appeared on Delasport.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The global iGaming industry enters 2026 with the momentum of a sector reinventing itself. Online gambling rose to €90.5B in 2025, and the next decade is set for ~10.5% CAGR, driven by upgraded technologies, news audiences, emerging regulated markets, smarter payments, and player engagement experiences that elevate entertainment.

Europe remains the anchor - strict, structured, and shaping the global rulebook. Latin America acts as the rocket engine, expanding from €4.5B today to ~ €8.5B by 2028, with Brazil generating more than half of the region’s growth. North America progresses through compliance-led maturity, while Asia tells a story of contrast: the Philippines opens its doors as India eliminates monetary play entirely.

More than 450M players participated online in 2025; that number surpasses 520M by 2028. Each year, the ecosystem becomes larger, faster, and more interconnected. Mobile leads the way with 65% of bets today.

A new competitive truth defines the years ahead:

Innovation attracts. Responsible gambling secures sustainability.

And operators who balance both unlock the most sustainable advantage.

MARKET OVERVIEW

The global growth remains clear and upward:

The winners of 2026 and beyond shift from “more games” to more meaningful experiences, powered by:

Enhanced journeys that feel tailored

Seamless and frictionless design across sportsbook and casino

Compliance woven directly into UX, not bolted on afterward

More opportunities to play and bet in Sportsbook in-play and Live Casino.

As expectations rise, so does the opportunity for companies willing to innovate with accountability.

EUROPE

Europe acts as the strict professor of global iGaming - demanding, structured, and consistently shaping higher industry standards.

The region delivered €51B online GGR in 2025, while operators navigated:

The Netherlands’ sponsorship removal (July 2025)

Croatia’s advertising blackout between 06:00–23:00

The UK’s increasingly granular consent and affordability rules and introduction of tax increase.

Europe’s stance is unwavering: Show responsibility, and growth follows.

For companies who adapt with precision and transparency, the opportunity remains strong.

LATIN AMERICA

If Europe regulates, LATAM accelerates.

The region is projected to reach €8.5B by 2028, doubling its 2025 size. Brazil sits firmly in the center, expected to represent more than 50% of regional online revenue as federal licensing stabilizes.

Other key momentum points:

Mexico surpassing €1.5B by 2028, propelled by SPEI/CoDi

Peru growing from €400M to €700M

Argentina & Colombia blending high demand with challenging regulatory landscapes

LATAM rewards operators who act quickly, localize intentionally, and build trust through payment speed and transparency.

NORTH AMERICA

If LATAM supplies the energy, Ontario provides the blueprint.

Ontario generated €1.2B GGR on €33.5B wagers in FY2024–25 - proof that competitive licensing and strong responsible gaming frameworks can thrive together.

In the U.S., regulation remains a patchwork, yet momentum leans toward:

Predication markets

Broader licensing

Stronger scrutiny

Higher accountability requirements

Companies equipped with responsible AI, transparent onboarding, and robust AML/KYC structures achieve faster approval pathways and long-term market sustainability.

ASIA

Asia in 2026 reflects two parallel realities.

Expanding markets:

• Philippines: strong KYC, a 30% e-gaming tax, and a domestically focused model

• Vietnam, Thailand, Japan: evaluating controlled legalization.

Restricting markets:

• India: complete prohibition of monetary online gaming as of October 2025.

This fragmentation demands local expertise, rapid adaptation, and early regulatory interpretation. Success comes to companies who navigate nuance rather than assume regional uniformity.

PRODUCT & TECHNOLOGY

The modern iGaming experience is a connected ecosystem. Sportsbook, casino, crash games, and esports now share a unified wallet, loyalty system, and visual identity, enabling fluid movement across verticals.

Key product trends shaping 2026:

Sports betting: prediction markets, casino mechanics in sports e.g. jackpot and crash, simple and quick bets UX.

Casino: live dealer and crash mechanics dominating player onboarding

Esports: smaller today, fast-growing where integrity systems are strong

Segment mix across markets:

~30% sports betting

~65% casino

~5% others

As players transition frequently between verticals, the ecosystem itself becomes the core product and the operator’s primary differentiator.

AI & PERSONALIZATION

AI has become the engine behind modern iGaming. iGaming companies offer different levels of personalization in limits, payouts, payment, content, player engagement, quick bet, recommendation, suggestions and more.

Operators who embrace personalization techniques throughout the player journeys enjoy higher retention rates and CLTV.

DATA & SECURITY

As operators scale, data evolves from support function to strategic moat.

Heightened threats - ransomware, credential stuffing, synthetic IDs - are accelerating adoption of:

zero-trust security

continuous authentication

blockchain audit trails

Strong data stewardship is becoming a licensing advantage and a long-term competitive differentiator.

CONSUMERS & PAYMENTS

The 2026 player is diverse, mobile-first, and increasingly demanding in expectations around speed and clarity.

Loyalty hinges on frictionless movement - fast payouts, visible fairness, and seamless access to trusted local methods.

REGULATORY OUTLOOK

Global regulation shifts from prescriptive rulebooks toward measurable outcomes.

Regulators increasingly evaluate:

effectiveness of responsible gaming tools

speed and clarity of payouts

explainability of personalization and risk models

Key developments:

2025: Netherlands sponsorship removal, India prohibition, Brazil enforcement

2026: Croatia advertising window restrictions

2026: Alberta emerges as Canada’s next compliance-led iGaming market

2026-27: Finland moves towards a licensed, high-compliance iGaming market

2027–28: expansion of supplier licensing and real-time reporting

Compliance evolves from obligation to performance benchmark - rewarding operators who embed safety and transparency into the core experience.

OPERATOR KPIs

High-performing operators in 2026 will stand out through clarity, responsible play, and seamless financial flows. Their ecosystems feel safer, faster, and more intuitive - strengthened by AI-driven personalization and licensed activity that reinforces trust.

These KPIs function as revenue drivers, license enablers, and valuation multipliers - setting the benchmark for sustainable success.

FUTURE OUTLOOK

In 2026, technology will keep transforming iGaming, improving player journeys, increasing conversions, propelling deposits rates, reduce KYC frictions, adopting to regulation changes, driving retention rates through personalization, player engagement and more.

Regional Potential:

Europe: Stable, strict, high-bar

LATAM: Fast, vibrant, payment-driven

North America: Regulated, complex, maturing

Asia: High potential, high unpredictability

Key developments:

Overdrive of prediction markets and social casinos,

In a fast-moving digital world, growth no longer depends solely on marketing spend - it depends on connections. Networking has become the foundation of sustainable success, and modern platforms are finding new ways to turn users into brand advocates.

One of the most powerful tools to drive this transformation is the “Refer a Friend” feature. Behind its simple interface lies an advanced event-driven system - powered by PHP, Laravel, Apache Kafka, and MongoDB - designed to grow communities organically, build user loyalty, and ensure transparency at every step.

1. Networking as the Engine of Organic Growth

Trust is the currency of the modern internet. A recommendation from a friend or colleague carries far more credibility than any ad campaign.

The “Refer a Friend” system capitalizes on that trust by allowing every user to become a brand ambassador. But the real magic happens behind the scenes - where a robust technical ecosystem continuously processes, validates, and optimizes every referral in real time.

2. The Technical Foundation: Built for Performance and Scalability

Core Language & Framework: PHP and Laravel

At the heart of the system is PHP (latest version) running on the Laravel framework.

This setup ensures a clean codebase, scalable performance, and rapid development cycles, ideal for continuously evolving platforms.

Event-Driven Processing with Kafka Streams

Every interaction, whether a user sends an invite, a friend registers, or a reward is triggered, generates an event that is published to Kafka topics.
Kafka Streams then processes these events in real time, orchestrating workflows such as:

Validating referral codes

Updating referral trees in MongoDB

Triggering notifications and reward logic through Laravel queues

This architecture guarantees resilience, real-time feedback, and high throughput, even under heavy user activity.

Data Layer: MongoDB for Flexibility and Speed

The referral ecosystem relies on MongoDB, a document-oriented NoSQL database, to handle the complex and evolving relationships between users, invites, and actions.

MongoDB is used to:

Store referral trees and user connection graphs dynamically

Track event histories for reporting and auditing

Support horizontal scaling through sharding and replica sets

Its flexible schema design allows the system to evolve without downtime, adapting instantly to new business rules or reward structures.

Monitoring, Reporting, and Fraud Detection

To ensure program integrity and data accuracy, the platform includes an extensive monitoring and analytics layer, built with a combination of Laravel services, Kafka consumers, and MongoDB aggregations. Powered by extensive BI Reports.

3. The Business Impact: Scalable, Transparent, and Rewarding

This fusion of human trust and technical intelligence creates a referral system that is not only effective but self-sustaining.

Users are motivated to share and engage authentically.

Businesses gain high-quality, loyal customers through organic word-of-mouth.

The platform maintains performance, transparency, and fairness through smart automation.

The result is a continuous cycle of trust, growth, and retention - all powered by a modern, event-driven architecture.

4. Looking Ahead: Intelligent Networking as a Core Strategy

The “Refer a Friend” feature represents the future of digital growth one that merges social behavior with engineering precision.

With PHP + Laravel as the development foundation, Kafka for real-time event streaming, and MongoDB for agile data storage, the system offers unmatched speed, scalability, and reliability.

It’s not just a feature - it’s a strategic growth engine, built to evolve with the business and powered by the trust of its community.

Final Thoughts

In a world where authentic connections matter more than ever, the “Refer a Friend” system stands as a testament to the power of networking backed by technology.

In essence, this is where networking meets innovation, and where growth becomes both human-driven and data-powered.

The post The Power of Networking: How “Refer a Friend” Combines Human Trust with Technical Intelligence first appeared on Delasport.

How Delasport Is Redefining Sports Betting Through Experience-First Innovation

Something fundamental is changing in sports betting, and if you're paying attention, you can feel it.

The industry that built itself on spreadsheets, odds calculations, and market margins is transforming into something far more visceral - a digital entertainment experience where how a bet feels matters just as much as what it pays.

Walk into any conversation with operators from Stockholm to São Paulo, from Toronto to London, and you'll hear the same insight: players aren't just looking for better odds anymore. They want to feel something when they place a bet. They want a better customer experience like in the biggest ecommerce websites.

This shift is reshaping everything - product design, how we think about retention, what regulations prioritize, and ultimately, who wins in this market. And throughout this evolution, one company has been consistently ahead of the curve: Delasport.

We didn't just watch this transformation happen. We helped create it. From pioneering personalization to launching real-time engagement mechanics that operators worldwide now emulate, we've been moving the industry from cold data analysis to hot emotional experiences - from information to immersion.

The future of sports betting belongs to experiences. And we're building that future right now.

The Emotionalization of Betting: Why Experiences Now Drive Growth

As we head deeper into 2026, three forces are reshaping the global iGaming landscape: explosive digital growth, increasingly hardening regulatory frameworks, and the need to go beyond content and elevate the betting experience.

But underneath all that complexity lies a simpler truth: betting is becoming emotional again.

Here's why that matters:

Personalization became a baseline expectation

In the early 2020s, personalization transformed from a differentiator into a commodity. Players stopped tolerating one-size-fits-all homepages and manual browsing through endless leagues. They demanded instant relevance - betting that adapts to their preferences, their habits, their teams.

Engagement became a 24/7 job

As advertising restrictions tightened across Europe and customer acquisition costs skyrocketed globally, smart operators pivoted. Instead of spending millions to attract new players, they invested in keeping existing ones engaged. Missions, boosters, jackpots, mini-games, loyalty programs - these aren't gimmicks. They're survival strategies.

Players discovered the thrill of high-drama formats

And then crash games arrived and changed everything. Alongside daily drop jackpots and instant-win mechanics, these casino-born formats exploded in popularity for one simple reason: they delivered what traditional sportsbooks couldn't.

Tension you could see. Suspense you could feel. Visual excitement. Emotional payoff.

Crash games especially proved that players crave dynamic, high-adrenaline formats where timing and instinct matter as much as statistical analysis.

This is the world operators now navigate. And while many companies observed these shifts, we at Delasport think that sports bettors deserve way more.

How Delasport Turned Personalization Into an Industry Movement

Our innovation story didn't start with crash-style sports betting. It started years earlier, when we recognized something most of the industry missed: the future would belong to Sportsbooks that treated each player on a personalized level.

What followed became one of the most influential personalization eras the sportsbook sector has ever seen.

Personal Trader: When We Put a Human in the Loop

While competitors were competing on who could list more obscure leagues, we launched Personal Trader and flipped the entire model. Suddenly, players could negotiate their odds with a real human being.

The impact was immediate and measurable: higher satisfaction, deeper engagement, better revenue. For many operators, it became their VIP value proposition. For others, it became a way to make every player feel valued.

More importantly, it proved that personalized service could be more than marketing speak - it could be a tangible experience. It was the first chapter of what we now call "My Era."

IfBet: Giving Players Control

In 2023, we introduced IfBet, which let players automate connected betting sequences with a single stake. If one leg won, the next would auto-activate. If it lost, the sequence ended.

It sounds simple, but it was transformative. For the first time, players could bet "their way" with real strategic depth and genuine convenience.

My Sportsbook: Your Personal Betting Home

Also in 2023, we launched My Sportsbook - and honestly, this was a turning point for the entire industry.

Every player got their own personalized homepage: clean, relevant, instantly actionable. No clutter. No endless scrolling. Just the bets that mattered to them.

The results? Over 70% of players engaged with it, and after they did, they placed their next bet in just six seconds.

Six seconds. Think about that.

We fundamentally redefined what sportsbook UX could be.

My Event Builder & My Combo: When Personalization Got Predictive

My Event Builder let players create impossible matches using real data - turning imagination into a betting canvas. Dream matchups became real betting opportunities.

My Combo, launched in 2024, analyzed player history and instantly generated five personalized combo suggestions. No more staring at blank screens wondering what to bet. We did the work. They enjoyed the action.

Together, these features cemented our reputation as the personalization pioneers. But we weren't done.

The Engagement Revolution: When Betting Became Interactive

By 2024, personalization had become expected. To keep players loyal, we needed to give them more than relevance - we needed to give them reasons to stay, to play, to return.

So we led the next transformation.

Real-Time Engagement Suite

Built entirely in-house, this suite introduced missions, tournaments, and mini-games that triggered dynamically based on how players behaved.

It created an "always-on" entertainment loop that kept players engaged naturally, without relying on expensive advertising campaigns. As markets restricted marketing, this became essential.

Combo Booster, Combo Insurance, Double My Winnings

We took combo bets - historically high-friction but high-value - and made them fun.

Combo Booster increased payouts as players added more selections. Combo Insurance softened the blow of losing by just one leg. Double My Winnings turned results into an entertaining mini-game with penalty-shootout mechanics.

Suddenly, betting wasn't just a transaction. It was multilayered entertainment.

SuperPot: When We Brought Jackpots to Sports

Then, in mid-2025, we launched SuperPot - and the industry changed again.

SuperPot wasn't just another feature. It was a revelation. For the first time, sports bettors could compete in shared jackpot pools that mixed sports and markets, featured live standings, and guaranteed a winner every time.

In markets like Ontario and the UK, it became an instant sensation. But more importantly, it proved something we'd suspected: sports bettors love the same high-stakes, socially competitive formats that casino players do.

SuperPot showed us that the boundaries between casino and sportsbook could merge - not just visually, but emotionally.

Why the Market Is Ready for the Next Leap

Everything we've built aligns with five massive trends reshaping the industry right now:

1. Product verticals are converging

Sportsbooks increasingly look like casino entertainment product. Jackpots, crash-style mechanics, influencer challenges, social features - the lines are blurring fast.

2. Players demand immediate, visually engaging experiences

Like jackpot mechanics, high payout megaways and crash games at the casino demonstrate the need: players want adrenaline, not complexity.

3. Regulation demands smarter, safer design

We can't just chase thrills. Products must balance excitement with clarity, pacing, and transparency. Our features already embed these responsible gaming principles.

5. Cross-platform integration is non-negotiable

Players expect unified wallets, seamless loyalty programs, and consistent experiences across sportsbook, casino, and esports. Our ecosystem was built for exactly this reality.

All roads lead to one conclusion: players want real-time adrenaline and richer betting experience, not just odds boosters. And the industry needs a format that delivers exactly that.

Betiator: The First Crash Game Built for Sports

In January, we're introducing something unprecedented: Betiator, the world's first sportsbook product that merges live sports drama with the explosive excitement of crash games.

This isn't an upgrade. It's not an add-on feature. It's an entirely new category.

Why Betiator Changes Everything

It transforms passive watching into emotional participation

Traditional live betting gives you data - odds updates, probabilities, market shifts. Betiator gives you tension, timing, anticipation, and visual drama. It feels like a crash game because it captures that same heart-racing excitement.

It attracts both sports fans and casino players

For the first time, the two biggest betting verticals meet in a format that feels natural and exciting to both audiences.

It aligns with where the industry is going

Crash games are the fastest-growing casino genre for a reason. Betiator brings that momentum - and those players - into sports.

It's the natural evolution of everything we've built

Personalization → Engagement → Jackpots → Crash-style sports entertainment.

This is the next chapter we've been building toward.

The Future Belongs to Those Who Create Emotion

As we look towards the future, three things will separate winners from everyone else:

Building and maintaining player trust through transparency

Creating genuine emotional engagement that drives retention

Enabling product-led growth in markets where traditional marketing is restricted

Innovation and regulation will evolve together. Operators will increasingly partner with suppliers who treat compliance, user experience, and entertainment as inseparable parts of the same design challenge.

We've shown, repeatedly, that we don't wait for trends. We set them.

From Personal Trader to My Sportsbook. From My Combo to SuperPot. From engagement mechanics to crash-style gameplay. We've consistently moved the industry from data to drama, from transactions to experiences, from betting to entertainment.

And with Betiator launching in January, the next era begins.

The future of sports betting belongs to experiences. Delasport is building that future today - and we'd love for you to be part of it.

The post From Data to High Standard Betting Experience first appeared on Delasport.
