Your Team:

The DBA team manages database availability, security, and performance, ensuring data integrity and efficient access. They handle backups and user permissions while providing proactive support.

How You’ll Make an Impact:

• Develop and maintain database systems to ensure high availability and tailored performance for each user’s unique needs.
• Design databases that effectively address end-user information requirements.
• Manage user permissions and facilitate precise data distribution to ensure the right data reaches the right people, in the right format, at the right time.
• Utilize high-speed transaction recovery and robust backup procedures to safeguard data.
• Proactively reduce database downtime and fine-tune parameters for optimal query performance.
• Provide both proactive and responsive support for seamless data management.
• Define, uphold, and document database policies, procedures, and best practices.
• Conduct regular tests and evaluations to uphold data security, privacy, and integrity.
• Monitor database performance continuously, making necessary changes and applying new patches and updates when needed.

Employees may be required to participate in an on-call rotation, ensuring availability outside regular working hours to respond to urgent issues as needed as per the On call policy.

Who You Are:

• Demonstrated experience in database administration, IT, database architecture, or a similar field.
• Expertise in PostgreSQL.
• Practical experience with database standards and end-user applications.
• Strong knowledge of data backup, recovery, security, integrity, and SQL or NoSQL engines.
• Familiarity with GNU/Linux server environments.
• Skilled in database design and documentation.
• Previous experience using DBA case tools (both frontend and backend) and third-party tools.
• Background in replication and load balancing technologies.
• Basic familiarity with programming languages.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think algorithmically.
• BS degree in computer science or a related field, or relevant certification.

Bonus Skills That Make You Even More Magical:

• Proficiency in MySQL.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms like GCP and AWS.
• Familiarity with version control systems, including GitHub, Bitbucket, etc.
